Camp Invention is Coming!

Camp Invention takes summer fun and transforms it from ordinary to extraordinary!
In partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Suffield Elementary School is pleased to offer the nationally acclaimed Camp Invention program to children entering grades K-6. It’s an exciting, weeklong summer adventure with lessons that explore connections between science, technology, engineering and innovation. technology and innovation
? Using tools to take apart robotic dogs and compare their inner mechanics to the anatomy
and physiology of a real dog
? Designing tracks for their Optibots to follow while exploring different modes of transportation
? Exploring chemistry, non-Newtonian fluids and magnetism as they investigate magnetic
All activities give participants the opportunity to explore, discover and achieve while having fun! Local educators will facilitate program modules and enthusiastic high school students will serve as Leadership Interns, ensuring that one staff member is in place for every eight children. Register using promo code Ideas25 to save $25 (expires 3/23) and Ideas15 to save $15 (expires 5/4) OFF $225. New School Attendance Law (HB410)

New School Attendance Law (HB410)

The state of Ohio has put a new law into effect this school year with expectations of attendance for all students. Field Local School District has adopted this policy.

The 2017-18 school year is here and Field Local Schools staff has exciting plans and high expectations for your child’s learning.  We know that you also have many hopes and dreams for your child’s success in school and beyond.

To make sure those hopes and dreams are realized, we want to ask for your commitment to making sure your child attends school every day possible this year. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement.  This is true for every grade – elementary, middle, and high school students. Click here to read the policy.

KNOW! What's Trending--Relationships

Whether or not your teen has shown interest in dating, it has more than likely crossed their mind. It is vitally important for our daughters and our sons to hear from us on this subject. They need to know what a healthy relationship entails; they need to be clear on the family rules regarding teen romance and dating; and they need to be keenly aware that no means no. Click here for a discussion guide.
