Halloween Party Info

Although we cannot welcome parents into the building for Halloween Parties this year, we do plan to hold them! They will be held on Friday, October 29th from 2:00-3:00. If you signed up to be a room parent or to help out, you will be contacted shortly! Teachers will be asking for items to be sent to school for the party. Unfortunately, we can only have PRE-PACKAGED items. We CANNOT have any type of dessert which is made at home or even in a bakery. All items sent in must be packaged by the manufacturer. Students WILL be able to dress in costume but MUST be able to put the costume on over their clothing in the classroom. Students will not be permitted to dress in the restroom, so plan accordingly. If the weather cooperates, we will parade outside. Parents can view the parade. Parking will be behind the school in the gravel lot. Do not block the driveway. A message will be sent to parents before the parade if it will be canceled due to the weather. Thank you for your understanding.

Flu Shot Clinic

In partnership with Akron Children’s Hospital School Health Services, it is our pleasure to offer on-site flu vaccinations at the middle school on Monday, October, 25th. Flu clinics will be offered at each school building during school hours. Health Heroes flu vaccination clinics are completely voluntary and are offered to ALL consented students, regardless of their insurance coverage.

KNOW! To Balance Work and Play

The lazy days of summer have come and gone, and the school year is full steam ahead. But with our children’s school day followed by homework, sports, music lessons, dance classes, and them wanting to spend time with friends, it’s no wonder many of them are feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. While we want to enrich our children’s lives through a wide variety of fun and enjoyable activities, helping them become well-rounded people, we also must help them find balance in their lives and minimize the stress. Sometimes this means cutting back on the “extra stuff.” Informational Flyer

Birthday Treats

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently came out with guidelines and a list of healthy foods that schools are being asked to serve in place of cookies, candy, and other less healthy foods. Schools are encouraged to follow these guidelines, not only with food being sold but with any food being brought into the school. You are strongly encouraged to send in healthy snacks for birthday treats and/or holiday parties when requested.

At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
