Field Middle School

January Performance FMS Choir and Band

Our Choir and Band classes worked hard to prepare songs for a holiday concert and our abrupt closure prevented them from making a recording before the holidays. Please take some time to enjoy the performances they recorded last week.  YouTube Link

February Conferences

Conferences will be held from 4:00 - 7:30 PM on February 2 and February 9. Families may sign up for phone, Zoom, or in person conferences on those dates. Please take this opportunity to discuss your student’s progress. As we start the third nine weeks of school it is important to continue to monitor your students progress and help guide them to success. Families may schedule conferences starting this weekend by visiting the Middle School website and navigating to “Conference Sign Up” on the left side of the page. Conferences will be scheduled by clicking on the teacher’s name and selecting the desired time and format. Repeat the process to schedule additional conferences with individual teachers. It is possible to conference with all teachers in one day by scheduling the meetings in 15 minute increments. (i.e., Mrs. Adelman at 5:00, Mrs. Brake at 5:15, Mr. Nichols at 5:30, Mrs. Goodwill at 5:45, Mrs. Goldman at 6:00, and Ms. Soulsby at 6:15). We look forward to discussing your student with you.

8th Graders--Spring, 2021 DC Trip News

Since there is a possibility of continued travel restrictions in the fall due to COVID-19, our DC trip has been rescheduled for June 2-4, 2021. The cost of the trip will remain the same ($370), however, the collection dates will be later in the fall/winter because of the change in our travel dates. Since the weather will be much warmer in June, we will be ordering 2 t-shirts for every student instead of a single hoodie. Once school resumes in September, we will distribute a new informational flyer with important dates to all students.  The flyer will also be emailed to all 7th grade families and posted on our website. We are looking forward to our DC trip with your student June 2-4, 2021!

KNOW! Compassion and Caring to Reduce the Stigma of COVID-19

COVID-19 continues to present new challenges, burdens, and consequences in our daily lives and that of young people. A sneeze or cough in a public setting may have once elicited a “bless you,” but nowadays it’s more likely to prompt heads turning with looks of disapproval. For people who have, or have had COVID, they may feel as if they contracted the plague, based on the way others treat them. They may experience feelings of isolation, depression, and abandonment. The stigma that surrounds this disease must end, not only for the physical health and mental wellbeing of those who have COVID, but in order to help bring an end to this pandemic in communities throughout our nation and world.Informational Flyer
