Update 5/28/2020

Field Family,

It is the last day of school!  We have made it through this unprecedented school year.  We made it because of all of you.  Families, your time, energy, and effort helping your students was irreplaceable.  Staff members, you stepped up and learned on the fly.  You took a challenging situation and made it work for our students.  To each and every one of you I say, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

The offices will remain open on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am-2:00 pm.  The school building offices will close, as usual, June 18.  The central office will remain open and on this schedule through the month of July.

Please check your email and the website for information on returning Chromebooks and the final food distribution.  The last food distribution will be next week on Thursday, June 4.

Our parking lot project is starting.  There will be limited availability of the main campus through much of the summer.  I know everyone will be excited to see the finished project at the end of the summer.  I hope the weather cooperates!

I do not know what next school year will look like.  We expect guidance from the State of Ohio.  We will also be looking at the numbers and speaking with other education professionals. We will get as much guidance as possible and we will follow recommendations to keep our students, staff, and families safe.  School will begin on September 14.  Please look for an announcement from me the first week of August.  At that time, I will inform you of the plan for the start of the school year.

Again, thank you for all your help and support.  I wish everyone a relaxing, enjoyable, and safe summer!

Go Falcons!

Update 5/7/2020

Field Family,

I hope this email finds everyone well as we head toward the end of the school year.  The Class of 2020 graduation will be private, family ceremonies.  Each family will have an appointment time.  Mr. Geraghty will be reaching out with information about setting up appointments.  We will have the graduation over multiple days beginning Tuesday, May 26.  As always, we will have the photographer there for pictures.  We will also be video recording each student.  We will put it together as one video ceremony and give a copy to any senior who requests it.

The school year will be ending a few days early.  Our last day for online instruction will be Thursday, May 28.  Our staff will be using the last week to prepare for different possibilities for next year.  I have no idea what school will look like in the fall.  We are doing our best to prepare for many different options, but it is impossible to have all the planning complete until we know what the model will be.  I will keep you posted, and let you know as soon as I know anything.

If you have not heard from your principal, you will soon.  Each principal will reach out with dates, times, and directions to clean out/pick up things left at the school, and drop off school materials you have at home.  Watch for their emails.

Beginning Tuesday, May 19, all offices in the district will be open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2.  We still strongly encourage you to take care of any business possible by email or phone.  If you need to come to a building office or the board office, you can during these times.

When you come to any of the buildings or offices, you will see all of our staff wearing masks.  I strongly encourage you to wear a mask as well. We have been told it is a best practice.  Our goal is to keep you and all of us safe.

Thank you for your help and support for Field.  Only three more weeks.  We are almost there!

Dave Heflinger

KNOW! How to Keep Kids in Focus if Divorce Occurs

Why the child-centered focus? Because as painful as separation and divorce are for the couple going through it, they can be devastating and disastrous for the children involved. National Child-Centered Divorce Awareness Month was created to alert parents about the potential effects of divorce on children, and to help protect young people’s emotional, psychological, and physical well-being.  Click here for a discussion guide.
