New School Attendance Law (HB410)

New School Attendance Law (HB410)

The state of Ohio has put a new law into effect this school year with expectations of attendance for all students. Field Local School District has adopted this policy.

The 2017-18 school year is here and Field Local Schools staff has exciting plans and high expectations for your child’s learning.  We know that you also have many hopes and dreams for your child’s success in school and beyond.

To make sure those hopes and dreams are realized, we want to ask for your commitment to making sure your child attends school every day possible this year. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement.  This is true for every grade – elementary, middle, and high school students. Click here to read the policy.

KNOW! What's Trending--JUUL at Your School

The month of April has been designated Alcohol Awareness Month as an opportunity to focus attention on America’s #1 health problem. This year’s theme, sponsored by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCAAD), is “Changing Attitudes: It’s not a ‘rite of passage.’” Alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance among adolescents in our country. As much as we hear in the media about the rise in popularity of popping pills and smoking marijuana, alcohol remains young people’s top drug of choice. Click here for a discussion guide.

Girl Talk GLITTER is a peer-to-peer mentoring program that offers positive weekly meetings, community service projects and friendship building activities for middle school girls.  Girl Talk is led by high school students who serve as mentors and through the program, develop key leadership skills they will use throughout their lives.  See the attached link for more information and Monday meeting dates.
