As of today, both Field Local Schools along with our salt supplier have depleted the road salt supply that was purchased for the season. We are currently seeking another company that can assist us in getting another supply. Please use extreme caution in the parking lots and sidewalks throughout the District.  We hope to rectify the situation soon.

FHS Schedule Changes for February 27th

There will be a modified schedule on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 for all Field High School Students.

Freshmen will NOT report to school.

Sophomores will report at 7:55 to take the PRACTICE ACT.  The test is approximately 3 hours in length.  Students will be offered luch and released at 12:15.

Juniors will report to school at 7:55 to take the ACT.  The test is approximately 3 hours in length.  Students will be offered luch and released at 12:15.

Seniors will NOT report to school.  Seniors may use this day as an opportunity to visit a college campus.

Although the daily schedule for February 27, 2018 is modified, it is a scheduled school day for sophomore and junior students.  If they are not present, they will be marked absent.

State law requires districts and community schools to administer the state-funded ACT or SAT to all grade 11 students in the spring of the school year.  Tuesday, February 27, 2018 Field High School will be administering the ACT to all Juniors.  HB 3 gives 4 exceptions to the mandatory testing.  If your student fits one of the exceptions, you will be notified.

In addition to predicting the future academic success of students, determining college admissions and scholarship awards, the ACT is used to determine how well districts are preparing students for college and careers.

Districts and schools will receive A-F letter grades on the state report card in "Prepared for Success" component for the first time this year. A Prepared for Success letter grade is based on how well the students performed on six measures; one of which is the ACT.

This test will be given to students free of charge.  The state will pick up the bill.  If a student were to register for the ACT on their own, the minimum charge would be $46.

Since the ACT is such a high stakes test, it is recommended that students begin preparing for the ACT exam by taking a full-length mock exam.
FHS sophomores will have the opportunity to take a practice test on Tuesday, February 27.  This  full-length practice test offers a baseline score from which we can help students create a customized, efficient study plan. The full-length practice test covers content and strategy in addition to gauging progress.
If you have any questions concerning the state funded ACT or the attendance policy for February 27, 2018 contact the high school guidance office at 330-673-9591 ex 5018

New School Attendance Law (HB410)

New School Attendance Law (HB410)

The state of Ohio has put a new law into effect this school year with expectations of attendance for all students. Field Local School District has adopted this policy.

The 2017-18 school year is here and Field Local Schools staff has exciting plans and high expectations for your child’s learning.  We know that you also have many hopes and dreams for your child’s success in school and beyond.

To make sure those hopes and dreams are realized, we want to ask for your commitment to making sure your child attends school every day possible this year. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement.  This is true for every grade – elementary, middle, and high school students. Click here to read the policy.

KNOW! What's Trending--The Tide Pod Challenge

If you are raising teenagers, you have no doubt heard of some of the ridiculous internet challenges that exist among this age group. While some of these new-age “dares” are silly and harmless, many more are dangerous and even deadly, like the one currently trending – the ‘Tide Pod Challenge.’  Click here for a discussion guide.
