Congratulations to Kayla Kuntzman

Kayla Kuntzman is the winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Scholarship.  Kayla has now won the the Akron Chapter & NE Ohio Competitions.  Her essay will now be entered into the State Competition.  Good Luck Kayla!


 
College Credit Plus Meeting-January 23

  Field High School will host a College Credit Plus Information Night on January 23, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the high school cafeteria.  Ohio's College Credit Plus can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college course from community colleges or universities.  The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college ready students.  Taking a college course from a public college or university College Credit Plus is free.  That means no cost for tuition, books or fees if you attend public school in the state of Ohio.  The College Credit Plus Program is open to students in grades 7 through 12.  Students must meet the college admission standards to participate in the program.  For more information contact Mr. Stockley in the high school Guidance Office.


 
Maplewood Busing Calamity Day Procedure

In the event that Field Local Schools is closed and Maplewood is not due to the weather, busses will not transport students to Maplewood.  It will be the responsibility of the student and/or parent to transport. If Field Local Schools is on a two-hour delay, busses will transport to Maplewood two hours later than the normal departure time.  If you have any questions, please call the Administration Office or the Bus Garage.

 

 
Winter Formal 2017

Teen Institute will be holding a Winter Formal on Saturday January 28th, 2017.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m.  The dance will be 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Cost is $10 per person presale and $15 per person at the door-tickets go on sale Wednesday, January 18th during lunch periods.   Many door prizes will given out!

Attire - Gentleman - dress pants, shirt with tie

Attire - Ladies - dress of appropriate length

Pictures will be taken by Lifetouch.   

 
High School Student emails

 All students whose parent gave them permission for an email account now have access to these accounts.  They may be used to email staff only and will be helpful when using Google classroom.  Students may find this on the Google homepage or using the Gmail app.

High School Assembly Update

 When class periods are shortened due to assemblies, students with early dismissal may leave at the end of their regularly scheduled period.  This maybe earlier than their normal release time for school.  Students who have transportation problems are always permitted to stay in study hall and all students are encouraged to stay for assemblies.  We will put assembly schedules on our website for your convenience. 


 
New Vaccine requirement for 12th graders for the 2016-2017 school year

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the state of Ohio requires all students entering 12th grade to have a second dose of meningococcal vaccine (also known as MCV4, Menoevo or Menactra)

Student Drop Off & Pick Up Procedure

If you are dropping your student off in the morning, please drop them off at Door #1.  Students are able to wait in the foyer until 7:15 a.m. and then will be able to go into the cafeteria before being released to go into the building at 7:30 a.m.

If you are picking your student up at the end of the school day, please pick your student up in the front of the High School Building.

Senior Yearbook Guidelines

To:  Field High School Seniors

Re:  Guidelines for Senior Pictures


The picture that you submit for publication in the 2017 Field Days yearbook should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Approximate picture size: 2.25” wide X 3.25” high

  • Approximate head size: 1.5”

  • Head and shoulders only—no hands, objects, etc.

  • Plain, solid color background

  • No visible logos on clothing

  • In color—no black and white photos


Submission Options

1. Printed pictures can be submitted to the yearbook staff anytime; give them to Ms. Burke in

A5 or place in her mailbox in the main office.    


2. Students may upload their senior pictures to the shared public folder in Google Drive:

   Log in to your school email

   Go to Google Drive

   Click on Shared with Me

   Open the Public Folder

   Upload your digital image in either .jpg or .tiff format; title it with your full name.  [NOTE:  Do

NOT take prints from your photographer and scan them; the quality is usually poor,

making them unusable.  Instead, have your photographer submit the images digitally.]    


3. Photographers with Google email may also submit to the public folder; for access, contact

the advisor at christine.burke@fieldlocalschools.org  If the photographer does not have

a Google email, pictures can also be emailed to that same address.  Acceptable digital

file formats:  .jpg or .tiff


Submission deadline:  January 27, 2017


Disclaimer

The yearbook staff reserves the right to reject submitted pictures which do not follow the above guidelines.  Seniors are not required to have their picture taken by a professional photographer, but you were required to get your picture taken by Lifetouch at school for identification purposes; if you do not submit a senior picture (or it does not meet the specifications below), we may use your Lifetouch photograph in the senior section of the yearbook.

NEW** Important Information Regarding Your Child's Lunch Account
-Set up an account to pay fees now!
-Deposit money at your convenience into your child's lunch account or fee account
-Set email reminders to notify you when your child's lunch account gets low
-Check your child's account balances
-View an activity report so you can see what your child has eaten in the previous 30 days

To set up an account, all you will need is:
-A valid email address
-A credit card or ACH Check Information
-Your child's student identification number

Each child in your family can be set up on the same account.  As before, there is a convenience fee charge.  3.9% per transaction for Visa/MasterCard or $1.75 for electronic check.  
 
Calamity Notification

The Ohio Standard is excited to introduce new Parent Guides to Student Success for English Language Arts and mathematics.

Child Find - Identification of Children with Disabilities
The Field Local School district is in the process of locating, evaluating and identifying children 
Girl Talk
Join us every Tuesday, from 3:00-4:00 in the MS Library for Girl Talk. Girl Talk(www.mygirltalk.org) is an international non-profit peer-to-peer mentoring program with a very simple premise: high school girls mentor middle school girls to help them deal with the issues they face during their early teenage years.
