Class Description:

This is a required course for all Freshmen. We will begin the year with the Scientific Revolution and continue through history to the 21st century. Students will study the cause of world wars, revolutions, political and social movements worldwide and their effect on the global community.Some of the projects for the course include research on a turn of the century invention, a 3-D museum display representing a topic from the 20th century, a moviemaker presentation on the Cold War and a power point presentation on native African Tribe. The units we will concentrate on are:

.Age of Enlightenment (1600-1800)
.Age of Revolutions (1750-1914) *
.Imperialism (1800-1914)
.Achievements and Crises (WWI, WWII, Holocaust)
.The Cold War (1945-1991)
.Globalization (1991-present)

Class Announcements
Students will not be assigned a textbook, however there will be a classroom set available. Books can be signed out overnight.
