My name is Mrs. Wilson and I am very excited about starting this coming school year. I am very excited to be back at Field! I am a 2007 Field graduate where during my high school career I played volleyball, basketball, and softball. I was inspired to become a Physical Educator through my fantastic experience as a Falcon. I went to Kent State University where I graduated in December 2011 with my Bachelor of Science and majored in Physical Education.

My Philosophy

As a Physical Educator, it is my mission to support student learning. I believe in using various teaching styles from student led, direct, indirect, guided discovery, problem solving and peer tutoring to name a few. It is my mission to help engage each individual student despite their individual skill level. Improvement is a key focus during class along with learning in a safe and conducive environment. Holding students accountable through rules, routines, and expectations is key to my classroom management and is where and how learning starts. Assessment throughout instruction will give deep meaning to the students to the content they are learning and allow them to make connections throughout units. Reaching out to ALL students is my number one focus!

Proper Class Attire

Safety is the number one most important thing in Physical Education. In order to help your child be safe in Physical Education make sure they are wearing the right attire on their Physical Education days. Comfortable shorts and shirts are appreciated but are not mandatory. However, the proper shoes are. If your child is dressing up for school that is fine, just make sure they have their tennis shoes for class.

We will be focusing on rolling to a target/  We will turn the entire gymnasium into a bowling alley!  We will be using real bowling pins and work on rolling to knock them over.  We will also play various tag games with a focus on rolling as well.

We will be learning how to play speedball.  Speedball is a mix of handball and soccer combined!  The students will be split into teams and will play in a tournament to decide who is the speedball champion of their class.
