Hit It! -(Hearing Impaired Teens Interacting Together) Meetings - December 1, 2017
Our first meeting was held on September 29th and was a huge success.  We had representation from eight different districts and 21 students in attendance! Our Mission is to offer a nonthreatening environment for teenagers who have hearing loss to learn about hearing loss, technology, coping strategies and support in order to become their #1 advocate. If you are a Middle School or High School Student with hearing loss, please join us on December 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (lunch will be provided) at Summit Couny ESC, 420 Washington Ave, Cuyahoga Falls.  Register for this free event by emailing Dr. Carrie Spangler at carries@summitesc.org or Dr. Jessica Hoefler at jessicah@summitesc.org 
Free Sensory Friendly Holiday Concert - December 4th  image Free Sensory Friendly Holiday Concert - December 4th
Please join us on Monday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30) at Copley High School located at 3807 Ridgewood Road, Copley.  The Copley-Fairlawn Music Department is presenting a Sensory Friendly Holiday Concert featuring holiday music from the Copley High School Choir, Copley High School Wind Ensemble, Fort Island Bell Choir and the CFMS guitar club.  While open to all individuals with special needs, special focus is given to audience members with sensory sensitivities, who may be more sensitive to their environment.  Accommodations are provided by performing at half volume and soft lighting.  Click here for more information.

January 23, 2018 - Transition Law - Nuts & Bolts for Building a Life After High School & Evidence based Predictors & Practices for Successful Transition.
February 15, 2018 - Transition Services, experience and supports - pathway and resources for training, employment and community participation after high school.
March 6, 2018 - Financial, Legal and Health Care Planning for Transition & Building and utilizing self-determination and self-advocacy skills.
April 19, 2018 - Panel Night - Adult services and transition and success stories.

Does you or your child need immunizations ?  Here are locations you can go for immunizations.  No Appointments needed.
1. Portage County Health Department, 705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna.  Nursing Clinic-2nd Floor.  Every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  330-298-4490.
2. Kent City Health Department, 414 East Main Street, Kent. 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
3. Windham Renaissance Family Center, 9005 Wilverne Dr, Windham.  4th Tuesday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Field Local Schools has partnered with Summit County Educational Service Center to provide Field's preschoolers with the best start to their educational experiences. The integrated program is for children ages 3-5 and offered to children at economic disadvantage or educational risk, children typically developing, and children with disabilities.

If you are in need of shoes for your child, Salvation Army offers the "Shoes On My Feet" program that provides vouchers for school shoes and winter boots for children Kindergarten through High School in Portage County. The Field Local School district is in the process of locating, evaluating and identifying children from birth to age 21, residing in the district, who may be entitled to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), including special education and related aids and services, pursuanmt to the Indicisuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) or section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504).
