NAMI Basics 6-Week Classes Starting - April 18th

NAMI Stark County is offering a Parent Education Program.  Starting on Thursday, April 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 12381 Easton St., N.E., Alliance.  Basics is a FREE 6-week (6 consecutive weeks 2 hours per week) education program for parents, teachers and professionals involved with children at risk for or who have an emotional disturbance/behavioral disorder or mental illness diagnosis.  Participants will gain an understanding of issues pertinent to Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Depression, and Mood Disorders such as Bi-Polar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, ODD, Conduct Disorder, Schizophrenia and more.  For this class, your child age 8-18 can take part in the Life Skills Equine (horse) Assisted Learning program with the parents are taking the class.  No riding required during the sessions.  Call 330-455-6264 to register.  More +

2nd Annual Dance Party for Middle and High School MD Students - May 17th

All students, teachers, and paraprofessionals in high school and middle school MD units in Portage County School are invited to the 2nd Annual Dance Party.  This year's theme is "A Day At The Zoo".  Join use on Friday, May 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ravenna High School Gymnasium for an opportunity for our students to enjoy a day of music, food and fun with their peers.

Spring Unskating Party - April 24th, 2019

Roller Skating fun for people with disabilities and their families.  You are invited to this FREE event on Wednesday, April 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Springfield Lake Roller RInk. Summit Educational Service Center Pre School Program at Field Local Schools

Field Local Schools has partnered with Summit Educational Service Center to provide Field's preschoolers with the best start to their educational experiences. The integrated program is for children ages 3-5 and offered to children at economic disadvantage or educational risk, children typically developing, and children with disabilities. Does you or your child need immunizations ?  Here are locations you can go for immunizations.  No Appointments needed.
1. Portage County Health Department, 705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna.  Nursing Clinic-2nd Floor.  Every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  330-298-4490.
2. Kent City Health Department, 414 East Main Street, Kent. 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
3. Windham Renaissance Family Center, 9005 Wilverne Dr, Windham.  4th Tuesday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
