2019 Employment Symposium - Oct. 26th

Join us at Summitt DD located at 89 East How Rd, Tallmadge for a day of information about the vital role people with developmental disabilities play in the workforce.  Find out more about Ohio's priorities regarding employment as well as current employment First strategies and initiatives.

Ravenna 7 Movies - Lights Up! Sound Down - Oct. 27th

Lights Up! Sound Down - a sensor friendly movie presented in open caption with the auditorium lights turned slightly up and the sound level slightly down.  Join us on Oct. 27th for "The Addams Family".  Watching a movie during prime time hours can be challenging for families and children with Autism and sensory issues.  The Ravenna 7 Theater is proud to present Light Up, Sound Down (LUSD), a program open to everyone but specifically giving families and children with Autism and sensory issues the opportunity to enjoy their favorite movies.  Sensory Concession Special 12 oz soft drink and box of popcorn only $1.50 Call Ravenna & for show times at 330-296-7287. Fall Unskating Party - October 30th

It's that time of the year!  Join us for our Halloween Fall Rolling Skating Party for people with disabilities and their families.  Wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes and shoes are permitted on the rink.  There is NO FEE, free skate rentals, and refreshments provided.  Wednesday, October 30th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Springfield Lake Roller Rink, 1220 Main St, Lakemore.

Building A Frame For Behavior At Home - Nov. 4th

Does your child struggle with downtime at home?  Are you concerned with unstructured time you child will have during spring and summer break?  Could you use behavior strategies to manage challenging behaviors?  If so, this parent workshop is for you.  Topics include: "Sustain the Structure" - de-escalating behaviors, "Fortify the Foundation" using preventative behavior techniques, "Home Maintenance" - strategies for self-care.

Rotary Camp Respite Programs for 2019-2020

Our Respite Weekends are starting up! Once a month, we have a one-night respite, for first time over-night campers.  This is a great chance for campers who have come to day camp to try a one night overnight or for brand new campers to give camp a try.  In addition to our one-night respites, we still have our weekend and our day respite as well.  Great opportunities to see old camp friends, make new ones and to have a blast.

Summit Educational Service Center Pre School Program at Field Local Schools

Field Local Schools has partnered with Summit Educational Service Center to provide Field's preschoolers with the best start to their educational experiences. The integrated program is for children ages 3-5 and offered to children at economic disadvantage or educational risk, children typically developing, and children with disabilities. Does you or your child need immunizations ?  Here are locations you can go for immunizations.  No Appointments needed.
1. Portage County Health Department, 705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna.  Nursing Clinic-2nd Floor.  Every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  330-298-4490.
2. Kent City Health Department, 414 East Main Street, Kent. 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
3. Windham Renaissance Family Center, 9005 Wilverne Dr, Windham.  4th Tuesday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
