Beginning Reading Programs offered this summer in Kent, North Canton & on Akron University Campus.  In this fun summer program, your child will learn to read.  Children learn letter recognition, beginning phonics and easy sight words.  Your child will learn to read simple words and short sentences and will be excited about books and reading.  The program features wonderful books and engaging games and activities and is taught by a skilled and enthusiastic teacher!  Click here for Registration and Schedule Information!

As a student 16 years and older with only one or two years of high school left, you are the ideal candidate for this summer day camp. It’s time for you to start gearing up for your future! Discover the opportunities United Disability Services has to offer!
Spend one week with us, Monday—Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the location of your choice:
There is no charge to attend Gears but you must pack a lunch and provide your own transportation each day. All camp activities will take place at the location you choose. There will be an opportunity for a community outing one time during the week with a certified staff member present providing supervision as needed. Field Local Schools has partnered with Summit County Educational Service Center to provide Field's preschoolers with the best start to their educational experiences. The integrated program is for children ages 3-5 and offered to children at economic disadvantage or educational risk, children typically developing, and children with disabilities.
 
iCan Bike Camp - July 10 - 14 image iCan Bike Camp - July 10 - 14
Participants and Volunteers Needed!  iCan Bike is a five day camp that teaches individuals of all different abilities how to ride a two wheel bicycle independently without training wheels.  Riders 8 years old to adults accepted, rider must be less than 220 lbs, have a diagnosed disability, be abel to step side to side and walk without assistances.  Click here for more information and times! 
Shoes On My Feet!  image Shoes On My Feet!
If you are in need of shoes for your child, Salvation Army offers the "Shoes On My Feet" program that provides vouchers for school shoes and winter boots for children Kindergarten through High School in Portage County. Please contact Beth Calcei, in Special Services at 330-673-2659 to recieve an application.

The Field Local School district is in the process of locating, evaluating and identifying children from birth to age 21, residing in the district, who may be entitled to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), including special education and related aids and services, pursuanmt to the Indicisuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) or section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504).

Have questions about your child's behavior? If you are a parent, grandparent, foster parent or caregiver ofa child or children who have been diagnosed with or show symptoms of mental illness prior to the age of 13, join the Basics Support Group. 
Field Schools Public Hearing on IDEA, Title I Funds
The Field Local School District will hold a public hearing on the use of IDEA and Title I funds at 3:00 p.m. on June 14, 2017 in the Falcon Conference room at the High School,  2900 St. Rt. 43.  The general public is welcome to attend the meeting and hear plans for the intended use of the funds and to have the opportunity to comment on the proposed district plan.  For more information or to submit a question or comment, call 330 673-2659.
