Meet Mrs. Walchalk

Hi !
My name is Kari Walchalk. I have been teaching for Field Local Schools since 1994.
I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 5th and 6th grades. Currently I am one of two Title 1 Reading Specialists at Brimfield Elementary.

I hold a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University and a masters degree in Instructional Technology from Akron University. I also have a reading endorsement on my state license which I earned from Akron University.

I love music and enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My favorite quote is from Gandhi, " Be the change you wish to see in the world." This is one of the reasons I became a teacher. I believe that teaching is the most important job in our world today. Things are changing so fast that learning must be an ongoing goal for all of us. If I can teach a child to love learning then I feel that I have impacted the world, because that child will grow up and be a productive and happy citizen.
