Math Announcements
Week of February 22-26
During this week of learning in math we are planning on covering the following concepts:
subtracting mixed numbers with borrowing, estimating sums and differences of fractions, and multiplying/dividing fractions. Students can expect a few nights of homework to practice the concepts taught in class. We may take a quiz this week, depending on well the week of learning goes.
In Science we will continue with our sound unit.

******The major aspect of achieving success in fifth grade math is knowing basic multiplication and division facts. If your student does not know or is having trouble remembering their basic facts, please spend 10-12 minutes daily studying with them. Good study tactics may include doing flash cards together or playing math computer games. Investing 10-12 minutes a day studying basic facts with your student will allow your student to reap the benefits of fifth grade math.
