Your Life with a Kindergartner
As you may have noticed, life with a kindergartner is a lot different than life with younger children!
Mom! Mom! Mom! Why this? Why that? Your child has probably started asking a million questions. Embrace this! Children learn through curiosity and the more you address your child's questions and the more you challenge your child to think about things in more depth, the more your child will grow!
Books!  If your child hasn't already, they are about to become engrossed in books! This is a great thing.  They need this to become great readers.  Help your child find books that peak their interests.  Your child should be reading to you everyday!  I will be sending home little books all the time!  You can still read them bedtime stories.  Be sure to stop and point out parts of the book, the way the author writes, and the letters and words in the story.  Say things like "look how the author made the words bigger when they want us to say the words louder" or "why do you think the author made the character do that?"  This type of reading will help your child understand concepts of reading and writing!
