Spanish II

Course Description

Spanish II is a continuation of beginning language study in the first semester, then geared more toward preparation for intermediate study in the second semester.
Vocabulary study and memorization are key components. Our targeted vocabulary topics will include describing one's home and the items in a home, chores and responsibilities, travel and tourist activities, sports and sports equipment, as well as body parts and caring for one's health.
Spanish sentence structure and grammar are also taught in each chapter. At the end of Spanish II the student should be able to express himself/herself with some fluency on familiar topics, as well as ask questions for information and clarification. He/She should be able to give narrations in a variety of verb times (past, present and future).
Homework is frequently assigned throughout the week, but RARELY on weekends. Homework can most often be found in either the text or the workbook, but may sometimes be a teacher produced handout. In the latter case, you can find a copy of the assignment here at this site to be printed and completed (in the event it was forgotten or misplaced at school.)
Please see the "Dear Parents" page for the best ways to help your son/daughter succeed in this level 2 language class.
