National Honor Society

Class Description:
National Honor Society is widely recognized for encouraging the four pillars of membership: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
How do I become a member of NHS?
Students are invited to apply based on a qualifying cumulative GPA of 3.4 or above in their Junior year.   The application process involves documenting leadership, service, and character.  The completed applications and references are analyzed by a team of five teachers who comprise the Faculty Council.  Mrs. Tenney, the advisor, may not function as a member of faculty council, but may counsel students on their applications before those are submitted if students ask for her review.
What is the most frequent advice Mrs. Tenney offers to prospective NHS members?
No part of the application should be left blank.  This is your only opportunity to impress teachers on the Faculty Council who will not know your name as they look at the applications.
