About your music grade . . . .

About your music grade  . . . .
General music grades are given twice yearly, first at the semester, and then at year's end.

Music grades are in 3 areas which, when combined, make up the report card grade in all music classes. These components are:

  • Student demonstrates accurate pitch and/or rhythm through writing, singing, and/or playing instruments (performance).
  • Student demonstrates ability to analyze and describe music elements using correct terminology (understanding music).
  • Student comes prepared to actively participate in all musical activities (participation).

One of three grades may be given:

  •   +  Outstanding
  •   =   Satisfactory (on grade level; most overall grades will be here)
  •   -    Unsatisfactory
